Job Description

Provide accurate spoken language interpretation services in person or other modalities as assigned. Requires advanced proficiency in English and target language, plus knowledge of medical vocabulary to ensure linguistically appropriate care.

We are hiring for a Certified Spanish Medical Interpreter! Mixteco Bajo is preferred but not required. We require an active certification for this role (DSHS, CCHI, or NBCMI). This position is 100% on-site in Seattle mostly Monday-Friday with occasional Saturdays on day shift.

Required Education and Experience
High School Diploma or equivalent experience.
Fluent in designated language and English.
Minimum of two (2) years' experience interpreting (in a medical/healthcare setting).
Current knowledge of medical terminology and procedures.

Required Credentials
Certified Medical Interpreter by the Washington State Department of Social and Health Services (DSHS), or equivalent state or national medical certification such as Commission for Health Care Interpreters (CCHI) or National Board of Certification for Medical Interpreters (NBCMI).

Preferred
Bachelor's degree.
At least two (2) years Interpreting in a medical setting.
Experience with simultaneous interpretation and/or sight translation.
Advanced medical terminology.

Compensation Range
$28.44 - $42.66 per hour

Salary Information

This compensation range was calculated based on full-time employment (2080 hours worked per calendar year). Offers are determined by multiple factors including equity, skills, experience, and expertise, and may vary within the range provided.
