Our client is a well established manufacturer of special machinery.

Title: Machine Wirer

Location: Tecumseh

Pay: $30-$33/hr

Shift: 2 nd shift (Mon-Thurs 3pm-1am)

Openings: 2

Job Summary:

Wires machines, equipment and their subassemblies following layouts, electrical circuits and other written and verbal specifications

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Read, comprehend and interpret Wiring Diagrams.
• Understand and support Company philosophies, goals and directions including ISO9001 and 14001 policies and procedures.
• Job Report labor correctly and in a timely manner.
• Safely apply material handling processes.
• Produce quality work in a time frame that meets the expectation of the Team/Group Leads.
• Set the department / area standards in housekeeping, attendance and teamwork by example.
• Possess working knowledge of standard hand tools.
• Interact professionally with customers in the plant and field.
• Practice good communications with Leads and team members.
• Possess working knowledge of standard and special tooling.
• Perform all line wiring operations.
• Work with minimal supervision.
• Know and understand the missing parts system.
• Practice good communications; train employees/customers.
• Recognize problems with electrical designs and parts, take appropriate corrective action to resolve.
• Recommend improvements for work area, products and processes.
• Perform proto type work with limited Engineering and minimal supervision.
• Perform and/or oversee machine installations in the field.
• Analyze designs for correctness, functionality and cost effectiveness.
• Perform Panel component changes as well as build panels.
• Build and wire multiple product lines.
• Complete safety training on the use of overhead cranes and follow all safety requirements when using overhead cranes.
• Complete safety training on the use of fall protection and follow all requirements when applicable.
• Complete Lockout / Tag out training using all required items when performing Lockout.
• Work safely and in an environmentally responsible manner.
• Adhere to the 5S standards in the work area.
• Communicate any discrepancies’ or errors on prints, materials list etc.
• Interact with teams on second and third shift to obtain positive results on productivity and quality.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Associate's degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or 3 to 5 years of related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Demonstrate personal leadership; actively participate in or lead problem solving and continuous improvement efforts.
• Demonstrate flexibility when confronted with high stress / emergency situations, priority changes, or new assignments.
