Job Summary:
An Industrial Electrical Superintendent will oversee multiple crews and implement the installation of large-scale electrical systems. You manage work sequencing, interpret blueprints and schematics, and ensure safe and timely completion of all projects. This role requires strong leadership and organizational skills, and our ideal candidate possesses significant prior experience organizing and administering multiple crews. You should have ample experience with installation and construction processes, as well as experience with blueprint reading, electrical schematics, wiring, conduit work, and thorough knowledge of workplace safety practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify safety risks and the precautions required to eliminate those risks.
  • Manage material procurement and requisition needs.
  • Establish workflows and sequences to ensure projects remain on track.
  • Assemble and install electrical equipment.
  • Terminate wires and cable to electrical equipment such as but not limited to breakers, control panels and distribution systems.
  • Test electrical components for continuity and proper voltage readings according to specifications.
  • Inspect electrical equipment and components to identify hazards and to ensure the equipment is in good operational condition.
  • Setup and maintain temporary power systems.
  • Install and maintain grounding systems for all equipment and structures.
  • Hoist equipment and tools into location via bull rigging or crane.
  • Must be able to work at heights more than 300 ft.
  • Employees must be capable of performing skilled labor for up to 12 hours a day.
  • Read blueprints and schematics.
  • Install and modify cable tray using hand tools and power tools.
  • Bend and cut conduit using hand saws, hand tube bending equipment as well as power and hydraulic cutting and tube bending devices.
  • Use recognized cable pulling methods to run cable through specified pathways.
  • Terminate both High and low voltage equipment and cable/wiring.
  • Troubleshoot equipment and systems for electrical malfunctions.

Education:

  • Licensed Journeyman Electrician
  • National Center for Construction Education and Research’s (NCCER) certification for Industrial Journeyman Electrician.

Experience:

  • Must have 5+ years’ experience as an Electrical Supervision Experience.

Knowledge Skills & Abilities:

  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience of working with a lock out tag out system.
  • Must have all the required tools.
  • Must be dependable and operate with a high level of integrity.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and demanding environment.
  • Must be able to demonstrate former knowledge and experience working on high voltage systems.
  • Must know basic electrical theory for example but not limited to ohm's law.
  • Must be able to use specialized electrical tools such as but not limited to ohm meters, multi-meters, and terminating devices.
  • Must be able to identify different types, gauges, and color of cables and wires.
  • Must be reliable, accountable, and consistent in performing administrative processes.
  • Must be willing and able to follow all instructed safety regulations.

  • Location is at 2730 Mine and Mill Road, Lakeland, Florida, 33801

Work Environment:

  • This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work vary (Monday to Sunday with some overnight work) and overtime is frequently required.
  • This position is safety sensitive in nature, which means employees perform duties so fraught with risks of injury to self or others, or environmental injury, that even a momentary lapse of concentration or attention can have disastrous consequences.
  • The working environment is often in harsh elements (hot/humid and/or cold temperatures, rain, etc.) Industrial environments often have exposure to hazardous chemicals, moving heavy equipment, and other safety-sensitive hazards/risks. Must always be alert and able to safely perform the essential duties of the job without risking harm to oneself or others.

Physical Requirements:

Talk/Hear: Must be able to communicate instructions, coordinate with team members, and address issues on the job site effectively.

Stand/Sit: Frequently required to stand and sit to supervise operations, attend meetings, and review plans and reports over long periods.

Walk: Frequently required to walk to inspect job sites, oversee ongoing work, and move between different areas and departments.

Use hands/fingers to handle or feel: Frequently use hands and fingers to handle tools, review equipment, and check the quality of installations and repairs.

Climb: May occasionally be required to climb to inspect and supervise work on elevated platforms, ladders, or scaffolding as part of site inspections.

Stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl: May occasionally need to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl to inspect and oversee work in confined or low-access areas.

See: Must have good vision to review blueprints, inspect work quality, identify potential issues, and ensure safety standards are met.

Carry, weight, Lift: Must be able to exert maximum muscle force to lift, push, pull, or carry objects up to 50 pounds to handle equipment, tools, and materials necessary for site inspections and project management.

Exposure to work: Exposure to various work environments, including construction sites, where there may be noise, dust, and outdoor elements.

Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
