Role Summary/Purpose

This internship/co-op/temporary position program being offered by Dresser Utility Solutions is designed to give students the opportunity for career exploration and development in chosen fields of study. This will give the individual the opportunity to use skills learned in his/her degree programs and the chance to learn new skills. The position will focus primarily on building expansion plans using 2D CAD.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Willingness to expand upon newly created facility and property drawings.
• Ability to accurately create projected building expansion plans utilizing 2D CAD.
• Apply engineering tools and knowledge in areas that may include project management, continuous improvement, and waste reduction.
• Conduct, support, and lead identified improvement projects to resolve production issues and minimize cost in alignment with company objectives.
• Collaboration with multiple production areas and resource groups about existing and potential manufacturing processes and their capabilities.
• Report generation, data mining and concept creation/proposal development.
• Expected to resolve problems through the application of acquired expertise guided by precedent.
• Works together with people from the business unit. Contacts are under guidance and/or geared towards specifying activities. This individual will plan activities towards execution of assigned projects and will gain/give explanations on technical issues.
• Communicates with direct team and supervisor.
• Presents to internal teams on metrics, project status, and research.

Qualifications/Requirements:

• Enrolled in an accredited bachelor's degree program.
• Minimum GPA requirement of 3.0.
• Must have AutoCAD experience for plant layout.
• Must be highly collaborative and able to work in a team-based environment.
• Must have excellent problem analysis and problem resolution skills at both a strategic and functional level.
• Must have the ability to identify trends and establish proactive corrective actions.
• Exceptional computer skills are required, including extensive knowledge of spreadsheet, presentation and database software, proficiency with various e-mail, calendaring, meeting management and related communications software.
