Managing Editor (Remote DC/MD/VA) at GovCIO in Boise, Idaho, United States Job Description Overview GovCIO is currently hiring for Managing Editor. This position will be located in DC/MD/VA and will be a hybrid remote position within the United States. Responsibilities + Execute editorial calendar and plan, assign and manage editorial projects from conceptualization through publication. + Collaborate with writers and other team members to ensure timely execution of quality content. + Assign and track progress of projects and ensure they're completed on deadline. + Edit, proofread and fact check copy for accuracy, grammar, quality and style. + Interview federal leaders for articles, podcasts, virtual panels, live events and conferences. + Recruit speakers for events. + Attend and cover industry events, with occasional travel. + Assist analytics and data-reporting efforts. + Gather, analyze and report on information about federal contract opportunities or business trends, and use this information to inform editorial work. Qualifications Required Skills and Experience + Bachelor's with 5 - 8 years (or commensurate experience) + Previous experience in news or B2B editorial. + Excellent communication skills. + Ability to collaborate and build relationships with team members and external collaborators + At least 3 years experience in editorial positions and managing editorial projects. + Strong track record of delivering high-quality multimedia content. + Experience using project management tools and content management systems. + Ability to juggle multiple concurrent projects with varying deadlines. Preferred Skills and Experience + Federal government reporting experience or interest is a plus. + B2B media reporting experience or interest is a plus. + Video/podcast production knowledge is a plus.
