Exciting opportunity to join the Avera Laboratory, one of the top labs in the nation! This position supports both our Blood Bank and Cell Therapy areas.

This position may be eligible for a $15,000 Sign-On Bonus with a 3 year committment.

Job Summary

The Medical Laboratory Scientist working within the Cell Therapy Laboratory and Blood Bank Department performs a variety of clinical laboratory tests, procedures and related duties. Utilizes scientific principles as well as technical, procedural, and problem-solving aptitudes for day-to-day laboratory technical operations, quality control, quality assurance, procedure/instrument maintenance and corrective action, test result correlation, and clinical laboratory related continuing education.

Education and/or Experience

• Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university and completion of NAACLS accredited Medical Laboratory Scientist program, or a related Bachelor’s degree and one to two years of experience/training acceptable to the ASCP or AMT for the Medical Laboratory Scientist required.
• Six months Blood Banking experience highly desired.
• Cell therapy handling/processing experience preferred.

  Certification, Licensure, Registration

• Certification as Medical Laboratory Scientist from the ASCP or AMT within 12 months of hire date.

Work Schedule

• Monday - Friday Day Shift: 5:00 am-3:30 pm
• Rotate every 3rd weekend and holiday
• On Call every 4th weekend 
• Full Time - 80 hours every 2 weeks

Pay

The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.  

• $27.50 - $41.50 per hour
