Since 2013, Lucky Pup Adventures has been Sioux Falls's premiere pet care provider. We are now hiring dog walkers and pet sitters to join our team. Put your skills with animals to work in a supportive, culture-forward company that cares about you.

We are committed to delivering the highest standards of premier in-their-home pet care, which means we need amazing folks for Team Lucky Pup! We walk and care for the most awesome, hilarious, and fantastic pets in the Sioux Empire, right in the pet’s home. We care for cats, dogs, bunnies, guinea pigs, bearded dragons, and the occasional chickens, horses, and goats. We do exceptional work for our exceptional clients!

Duties include:

• Traveling to a client's home to perform pet care-related tasks. 
• Walking dogs and keeping them safe in private and public settings. We work with larger dogs that can pull, so you must be capable of keeping them safely secured on walks.
• We are a Fear Free Certified business, so all animal handling and training reinforcement must adhere to those guidelines and principles. 
• Feeding, caring for, cleaning up after, and administering medications for pets of all kinds, ages, and breeds; this includes cats. 
• If you have a passion or interest in caring for fish and aquariums, that can also be an additional earning opportunity. 
• We service Downtown, McKennan Park, East Sioux Falls, South Sioux Falls, West Sioux Falls, the Six Mile Road neighborhod, Brandon, Whittier, Riverside, Augustana University, and nearby communities.

We’re looking for someone who:​​​

• Has professional or volunteer experience with pets, but especially has experience reading dog body language and dog behavior outside of owning their own pet.
• Must be interested and able to "deep dive" to learn more. Experience working around a variety of pets and personality types preferred.
• If you are interested in weekday dog walking, we would prefer someone consistently available Monday to Friday from 10am to 2pm. 
• If you are interested in weekend pet sitting, we would prefer someone consistently available on Saturday and Sunday. Most of our weekend work is cat care. 
• Attitude is more important than aptitude. So, if you are willing to learn, we are willing to train.
• This is an active, independent role, primarily for outdoor activities. If you are comfortable and enjoy that working environment, you can thrive here. 
• Has impeccable attention to—and the ability to recall—details. To check your dedication to detail, put the word impeccable within your application so we know you didn’t miss this part!
• Wants to provide a 5-star customer service experience. Candidates should excel in written and verbal communication.
• We want to add more team players to our team environment. We help each other by ensuring safe, on-time pet care visits. People who can keep animals healthy and happy are encouraged to apply. 

We offer:

$14-18 / hour (depending upon experience, bonuses, and gratuity)

• This job is designed to be part-time; most staff will work 5-15 hours per week. 
• Paid training + continuing education opportunities. 
• Additional responsibilities for the right applicant. 
• Really awesome clients that are vetted by Lucky Pup Management.
• Mileage reimbursement at the rate of 65 cents per mile. Our service area is 20 miles across Sioux Falls, but you will not be expected to cover that entire distance daily.
• We have company vehicles available in case of emergency.
• Paid time off accrual is available after the probationary period.
