We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Permanent Maintenance Technician to join our team in the Engineering industry. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing complex mechanical and electrical systems. This role is crucial to ensuring the optimal functioning of our machinery and equipment, contributing to our commitment to deliver high-quality products and services.
Responsibilities:
1. Conduct regular inspections of machinery and equipment to identify potential issues and fix them before they escalate.
2. Perform preventative maintenance tasks to ensure the longevity and optimal performance of equipment.
3. Utilize PLC programming skills to troubleshoot and repair automated systems.
4. Operate various machines and use power tools as needed in the repair and maintenance process.
5. Conduct precision measurements to ensure machinery and equipment meet specified standards.
6. Collaborate with the engineering team to understand and resolve complex technical issues.
7. Assist in the installation and setup of new machinery and equipment.
8. Document all maintenance and repair work for reference and reporting purposes.
9. Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe work environment.
10. Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities.
Qualifications:
1. A minimum of 5 years of experience in a maintenance technician role in the Engineering industry.
2. Proficiency in PLC programming, mechanical systems, electrical systems, and machine operation.
3. Expertise in using power tools and conducting precision measurements.
4. A thorough understanding of safety protocols in the engineering environment.
5. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.
6. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical information in a clear and understandable manner.
7. A proactive approach to preventative maintenance and a keen eye for detail.
8. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
9. Relevant certification or diploma in Engineering, or a related field, is preferred.
